Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, was originally founded at Virginia Military Institute on September 11, 1865, by Otis Allan Glazebrook, Alfred E. Marshall, and Erskine Mayo Ross. Alpha Tau Omega was the first fraternity established after the Civil War, and its main purpose was to bring students from both the North and South together into one fraternal organization.
